Works in Progress
Sometimes on a spiritual journey, similar to a marriage or during parenthood, hard work is required. We mess up. We make mistakes. We keep learning. We keep growing. We do the best we can, today. We are works in progress.
The Highest Love
If two adults love each other and are committed to the relationship and are of sound mind, they should be able to marry. Gender, skin color, ethnic background, and religious beliefs are not reasons to make the marriage unlawful. To discriminate in our laws is wrong.
From the Heart
... there are paths we follow not visible to the human eye. We can tell when we’re on the right path and we can tell when we’re off—but it is felt deep inside. Our heart tells us, “Yes, this feels right. This thought, action, word, or choice brings peace, comfort, and healing.”
The Feminine Divine
What if our spiritual practices changed so that women’s periods became a holy time, a time for respite and reflection? What if each month that sacred life-giving force was treated with reverence? What would we teach our daughters? What would we teach our sons? How might men treat the women in their lives if women’s bodies were honored?
Indigenous Wisdom
When we pray for our loved ones, do we include our animal friends? What about the sky? How might our religious and spiritual practices change if we pray for the rivers and lakes? Do we show reverence for the ground we walk upon? Do we consider the earth sacred?
Compassion
We are like leaves on a tree: different colors, different shapes, and different branches that extend in various directions. We have different religions and languages. But we are all connected. We share the same planet. We share the same sky, the same need for food and water, and the same need for love and compassion.
Deeper Roots
Looking deeper at issues is hard work. It requires questioning old patterns, going beyond judgments, and aligning with inner guidance.
